California: Encinitas’ Jake Marshall Wins First US Open of Surfing Title

Encinitas surfer Jake Marshall defeated Huntington Beach’s Kanoa Igarashi 14.77–14.07 in a dramatic men’s final at the Lexus US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, slapping the water in celebration of his first title at the iconic event.
